Prior to joining ERisk, Gilbert was founder and CEO of Banking Decision Systems, a highly successful risk management software company serving the banking industry. Gilbert was also president and CEO of C*ATS Software, a publicly traded software firm (NASDAQ) providing risk management and trading applications to the financial sector. Gilbert most recently served as CEO and a member of the board of 401Konnect, Inc., provider of a Web-based marketplace for retirement plan brokers and benefits consultants. 

Earlier in his career, Gilbert, who holds a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard, was on the staff of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. He was subsequently assistant to the chairman and senior vice president of First Pennsylvania Corporation, the then 19th largest bank in the United States. Gilbert also acted as chairman of the board of California Federal Bank, a publicly traded (NYSE) thrift.
