Financial Industry and Risk Management Veteran David J. Samuels Joins ERisk

New York, New York  -- ERisk, the leading developer of software solutions that help banks enhance performance through better risk and capital management, today announced that David J. Samuels joined the company earlier this month in the newly created position of senior vice president, reporting to David Gilbert, CEO.

In this role, Samuels will work closely with the other members of the executive management team in driving significant and sustained growth across the organization. His responsibilities also include guiding the global business development, marketing and sales activities of ERisk. Mr. Samuels has a strong track record of building and growing companies, including an extensive background in the risk management arena.

Prior to joining ERisk, David Samuels was Chairman and CEO of Zoologic, Inc., the global leader in providing risk management and financial markets training solutions. Under his leadership, Zoologic achieved 400% growth in the core business and was established as a pioneer in the area of risk training, fully blended learning and performance support software. Prior to Zoologic, Inc., Mr. Samuels was president of FSEdge, an e-finance provider servicing the $200 billion food service industry.

Mr. Samuels has extensive experience in the risk management sector having previously served as a member of executive management and head of global operations of C*ATS Software, a publicly traded software company (NASDAQ) providing risk management and trading applications to the financial sector. Mr. Samuels was also an executive at Sungard (NYSE), a global leader in trading and risk management systems, and at EJV, an investment bank consortium serving the buy-side marketplace.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Samuels, who graduated with honors from the Business School at the University at Albany, worked for JP Morgan, Anderson Consulting and IBM. Mr. Samuels is a senior advisor to Glocap, has served on the board of a number of companies, including Zoologic, MKI Risk, FSEdge and OASYS, and is active in various professional organizations, charities and community projects.
